For dinner, we headed to the James Beard semifinalist and Michelin Bib Gourmand-rated restaurant, Rooster and the Till (@roosterandthetill) in Tampa, FL. It's a beautiful restaurant and a great experience all around from mocktails to dessert. For starters, we got the Cheese Duo. It's a charcuterie comprised of quince preserves, olives, marcona almonds, sourdough, fried artichokes, a wedge of cheese whose name escapes me at the moment, and fondue cheese poured over the fried artichokes and fried sourdough cubes tableside. The cheese spread on the sourdough planks with a bit of the quince was glorious. Next was the hamachi crudo. Slices of hamachi were interlaced with balsamic strawberries and topped with mint, pink peppercorn dust, chilies, and shallots. Individual elements were delicious, but get each element in one bite; otherworldly. Rich hamachi paired perfectly with the acidic and sweet strawberries all taken to another level with the pink peppercorn dust. Just a fantastic plate of food. For the mains we got the Braised Pork Cheeks. In the bowl was a creamy Anson Mills corn pudding with a smoked tomato sugo. It was topped with the pork cheeks, celery salad and d pig ear chicharron. This whole bowl was an umami bomb. So deep in flavor. Familiar, yet complex. Mah Wife got the Potato Crusted Fish. Tonight was a fillet of triple tail fish, wrapped in a thin layer of potato and pan seared. It was topped with finger limes, bread and butter pickle relish, dill oil, all on a spoon-push of creme fraiche. The fish was cooked perfectly. The topping of finger lime and pickle relish really rounded out the flavor of the fish. For dessert, the Apple Mille Feuille. An apple is thinly sliced and rolled, and served with a pine nut coffee cake, rosemary butterscotch, and soft whipped cream. This was an elevated version of apple pie. Warm and comforting. The coolest part of this restaurant is that the kitchen is literally the centerpiece of the restaurant. It's not just an open kitchen, but the main focus of all activity. Definitely make a reservation and try Rooster and the Till.

I'm nervous to even post this review because I don't want this spot to turn into a wait list only, but the people need to know that Rooster and the Till is the BEST spot in Tampa. I have been to Rooster and Til 3 separate times over the course of 3 years. It is one of the few restaurants where it just gets better each time. For me personally, this restaurant remains my number 1 because they know exactly who they are and don't try to be something they aren't. Their service is unmatched compared to other big name restaurants in Tampa. The staff pays close attention to detail (which just elevates the whole experience), while talking to you as a lifelong friend. As a music lover, it's a nice touch to hear some classic hip hop/ R&B songs. You just feel "cool" here! The food, even though pricey, is well worth it. I like to think of these meals as an "investment" for a proper dining experience. The creativity and blend of different ingredients make you think "this will never work" but once you take that first bite you start to think "where has this been my whole life". I included photos from my 2nd time at dinning here. Still thinking about the flan a year later! No photos of them but the drinks are amazing. Priced fair based on the amount of liquor you receive. Again, art in a liquid form. I mean how do they do it?! Again, it's pricey, BUT WORTH IT. No shade to other restaurants, but if you are going to pay the money you better receive a PROPER experience through and through. Rooster and the Till does this and MORE. Grateful to have such an amazing restaurant here in Tampa Bay!

This place is freaking awesome! The bartender, Madelyn, is a breath of fresh air. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Tables are always booked so you know everything is delish! I always go spontaneously and end up at the bar where you still receive full service. The chef is friendly and will come out to discuss the dishes. Cobia Collar is my favorite and the dipping sauce is to die for. I've never tried anything I did not enjoy. The music is always good and not too loud. Never a dull time.

Rooster & the Till launched Volume 1 of their Summer Brunch Series today, delivering another exceptional meal. We began with a Cinnamon Roll from Jamison B Breadhouse, followed by the Full English Muffin, Yuca Hash, and Tempura Fried Soft Shell Crab Toast. Two fantastic cocktails, the Raspberry and the Concord Grape, perfectly complemented the meal. The brunch was a success, and choosing a favorite dish was impossible. I already have reservations for Volumes 2 and 3 of the Summer Brunch Series and I can't wait to see what they serve next. 'FULL ENGLISH' MUFFIN Sunny Egg | Gigante Bean | Smoked Pork Belly | Heirloom Tomato & Cucumber Cinnamon Roll Matcha White Chocolate Toasted Macadamia YUCCA HASH Longganisa Sausage | Sofrito | Scramble | Pickled Pepper Chimichurri TEMPURA SOFT SHELL CRAB TOAST Jamison B Breadhouse Sourdough | Soy Egg | Dashi Avocado | Breakfast Radish | Red Shiso Raspberry Gin | Bergamot | Peach | Lemon | Egg White Concord Grape Blended Scotch | Cold Brew Coffee | Brown Sugar | White Chocolate

Same as it ever was, with more deliciousness! I haven't been here in about 4 years and man... I forgot how amazingly delicious it is! Leah, our server, has been there for years and is not only super friendly, she's also very knowledgeable about everything there is to know about R&T. There were only 2 of us for dinner, but we ordered for 3 and may have overindulged just a bit, with an extra appetizer and an extra entree. The cobia collar is still as delectable as I remembered. A new addition to the entrees is a lamb neck vindaloo papradelle. It was the star of the night for me! The vibe of the whole place is chill. We had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Came here on Saturday night and we reserved a table about a week ahead to sit at the counter and see cooking happening. Restaurant itself is on a smaller side, I think half of the sits are bar/counter. Service was exceptional! Friendly, nice and attentive. We had wine and non alcoholic cocktail. They have a pretty good wine selection. We started with cheese duo that was pretty interesting. Definitely unique. Tuna crudo was exceptional! Panzanella salad was fresh and delicious. For the main we had potato crusted fish, which was delicious as well. We finished our meal with coffee cake and a tea. Everything was great! It is pricey but definitely worth it! Definitely want to come back.

Wow wow and wow. I cannot say anything bad about my experience at rooster and the till. If it's been on your list this is your sign to book the reservation. This has to be one of my absolute favorite dining experiences. We were seated at the kitchen bar which completely surrounds the kitchen so you can enjoy watching the chefs prepare your meal. We started our evening with cocktails while hearing about the tasting menu experience and enjoying the A5 Hand Roll. I hands down think this is the best way to enjoy rooster and the till. From start to finish ever course was creative well though out and delicious. Before moving onto our dessert course we chose to add on the Cobia collar and the caviar bumps. These were most additions and would absolutely recommend. The team is what makes this experience even more incredible. We had the pleasure of having Nicholas as our server who was amazing. He walked us through the courses and got to know us to really understand the experience we were looking for. The executive chef Martin was incredible. He took the time to come over and chat with us. Rooster and the till is an experience everyone should enjoy!!

You'd never expect to find this gem if just driving by every day. Hidden behind the doors is a gorgeous restaurant with an intimate set up. We came to try the tasting but opted for happy hour at the bar. We had wonderful service and we got to try everything on the happy hour menu as well as all their available desserts. We loved being able to watch the kitchen at work and all the curated dishes that went out to other tables. The gnocchis with braised short ribs was delicious and my favorite dish. Plenty of parking , easy reservations process (which required a credit card) but as long as you show up or give notice won't be charged. This was on a bookmarked list of places to try and we enjoyed our experience.

This one our first time at Rooster. We went for the Beta and B-sides event where they were trying out a new tasting menu. Overall the experience was lovely and fantastic. I loved that it was a longer service (2.5-3 hours). The wine and drink pairings were strong and lovely even on their own, could've been perfect with an improvement or two. The food was fun but there were some misses and some clear winners. A few places to improve: the Foie Gras. I know it's a unique dish but it was not palatable. Too many dishes to begin with had a highly acidic punch, a bit much even coming from someone who loves acid. The dishes weren't typically served individually either. It made the portions feel even smaller. Consistency between the dishes. Sometimes my partners was bigger or smaller than mine. Price to value ratio, anytime you're paying $145 for a meal it's always tough to find the value. But the overall experience could be slightly improved to make this ratio improve. The wins that should continue: the wine and drink pairings. These were worth the extra bit of cash. The short rib. The best things I've eaten in a while. I was getting full near the end though. The duck. I could've eaten two or three of these. The service and the vibe. The length of service. Would we go back? More than likely
